The view of the Valley of the Temples, and the fact that the staff was so accommodating for us, including driving us to their restaurant which was equally as difficult to find as the hotel.
Trying to find the hotel was terrible, even using the printed directions I found thru you and, in additon, using a GPS system which couldn't find the address or the route prior to it. I also didn't like that there was virtually nowhere to go for dinner if one din't use their restaurant.

The staff could not have been nicer! The young man at the front desk was incredibly helpful. He got us an upgrade at no cost when we asked if a balcony room might be available and attended to every other request we had. The property the hotel sits on its quite beautiful (fields, flowers and a lovely view of the Valley of the Temples). It was not hard to find although the GPS coordinates seemed to be off and we simply followed the signs instead.
It is clearly an aging property that needs some attention. A bit of peeling wallpaper in the hallway, lampshades with some burned marks and so forth. We hope the management gives it this attention because the basic structure is very attractive and the location perfect.

Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. In the evening we were recommended to visit their sister hotels restaurant which turned out to be the best dining experience we have had in a very long time. To top if off the hotel sports some excellent views of the ancient greek temple ruins.

Clean. Comfortable bedroom.
Location is close to a main road, yet proved difficult to access due to lack of adequate signposting on the raod. Ideally, the initial visit to the hotel should be in daylight.

Very nice hotel with a very good breakfast. It was late in the season and things were being closed down but this hotel is worth the stay. The hotel and the grounds around the hotel were nice and relaxing. If we had stayed another day I would have just stayed around the hotel the whole day. Very close to the ancient Greek temples.

No pool and some noise from the nearby main road. Very difficult to find unless you have a working sat nav.

It is surrounded by gardens, with a beautiful courtyard and view to the temples. It is a very good place to stay if you want to avoid the city. The restaurant at the Baglio di Luna, to which you have access, is excellent. You have to arrive with daylight since it is rather difficult to find. Room and breakfast are good; you get your money worth

Well appointed and pleasing traditional Italian high class country house hotel. Pleasant gardens with splendid views of the valley of the temples. Excellent dining facilities at nearby sister hotel.
Very difficult to find. the hotel needs much larger signs on the S115 road in both directions. The present signs are almost impossible to pick out at normal driving speed.

If you do not have a car,do not go there. Its too far away from Agrigento down town and no bus.I changed a hotel second day morning. The blanket made me feel cold. However, the receptionist is really kind.

Very nice villa, close to the Greek ruins, in the middle of vineyards. Very beautifull garden also. Good restaurant but located in another hotel 1 km away. Breakfast is vey nive - served in the garden terrasse.
Not easy to find - signs could be improved. The little roads around the hotel are littered with garbage and this is quite unappealing. The hotel should do something about this.

Location is superb with a view of the Valley of the Temples. A wonderful old building - a small delightful hotel. Nice being out in the country.
The hotel has the feeling of having seen better days - it needs attention...doesn't seem to be well maintained.

It's an old manor house with beautiful gardens and terraces which have a good view of the Valley of the Temples and the town of Agrigento. The two guys at reception were pleasant, friendly and helpful.
A warning to guests arriving by car - don't take the sign for Agrigento as the hotel isn't in town, and the directions provided by Booked.net are hopeless. We spent one hour going round in circles trying to find the Domus Aurea (and the tourist information in Agrigento didn't know where it was). If you're arriving from the west, the road will fork just before you enter Agrigento. The fork to the right goes to Agrigento and the fork to the left is signed Siracusa. Take the Siracusa road and don't whatever you do go into Agrigento itself. A few kilometres further along and you'll find a yellow sign for the hotel on the right. If you're arriving from the east, follow the sign for Trapani and you'll eventually find a yellow hotel sign, also on the right (there are exits from the main road to the hotel on both sides of the road). Once off the main road there are signs which lead you to the hotel. As for the hotel, the room was small and the bathroom was tiny. The pressure of the hot water was very weak, and water wouldn't drain from the bidet. The hotel is situated halfway between the Valley of the Temples and the seaside town of San Leone, so eating out in the evening will entail a taxi ride unless you don't mind drinking only water with your meal. There is another option - to eat in the restaurant of the Domus Aurea's sister hotel, but even that is a short dirt track car ride away. The breakfast buffet was served in the garden with a good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, breads and pastries. However the breakfast waiter was absolutely clueless, and never once, while removing empty plates from the buffet, checked the hot water and coffee pots (which remained empty until guests had to point it out to him). Nor did he realise that our table hadn't any cups etc. On my circuit of the buffet I asked him to bring a cup, which he did. However when he brought my cup to the table he didn't notice that my friend was also without a cup.
